PANCASILA UNIVERSITY PROVIDES UMKM AND MAGROVE PLANTING TRAINING ON PRAMUKA ISLAND

The Postgraduate School together with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Pancasila University (UP) provided Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) training to the people of Pramuka Island, Seribu Islands, DKI Jakarta which was held on 15 – 16 September 2023.

This time PKM provided training for MSMEs and also planted mangrove trees on Pramuka Island. The theme of the training provided was "MSME Business Risk Management" which was delivered by the Permanent Lecturer at the Postgraduate School, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Arissetyanto Nugroho, MM, IPU., CMA., MSS. Dr. Syahril Djaddang, SE., Ak., M.Si., CA., ACPA., CIBA, Dr. Harnovinsah, SE, M.Sc., AK., CA., Cert. IPSAS., CMA., CSRS., CSRA. Dr. Agustinus Miranda Widjaya, ISE., SH., MM., M.Kn and Dr. Sailendra, SE., M.Ak.

By implementing good business risk management, MSMEs are expected to improve their ability to face challenges and opportunities that arise in a dynamic business environment. Other benefits can also help in minimizing potential losses and improving long-term performance.

Apart from providing training, another activity carried out is planting mangrove trees on Pramuka Island. This activity aims to develop and maintain the mangrove ecosystem on the island as well as to protect the coast from abrasion, provide habitat for various types of marine organisms, support the sustainability of coastal ecosystems, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

With proper implementation and active involvement from various parties, planting mangrove forests on Pramuka Island can provide significant benefits to the local ecosystem and communities that rely on coastal natural resources.
